This ornate movie house, built in 1929, is home to a hostile ghost. The presence started playing dirty tricks when an apartment was added to the building in 1978. The ghost threw tools, splattered stains on freshly painted walls, and gave workers electric shocks even when the power was not connected. The shadowy presence was once seen in the auditorium and was blamed for hurling a piece of the ceiling from the balcony into the sets below. Handprints are also found frequently on movie screen. This haunting has been recorded by experts and published in books. Regarded as one of the fifty most haunted sites in the US.
