The old fire station, now used as the city archives, had had more than 200 reports of paranormal activity since the archives were started. Supposedly the activity is almost constant and happens almost every time anyone enters the basement or the far room. Most reports involve people seeing a group of old firefighters playing a game of poker near the wall, there are also reports of other roaming spirits. Other activity including fire alarms going off with no power running to them, rolling cases slamming together all throughout the night, or books being hurled across the room have also ben reported. One of the towns more respectable elder ladies reported that as she walked into the reading room , "...it felt like I walked into a warm pillow". She claims that when she got into the room, it was not the reading room but a ball room filled with Fire fighters in formal wear. When the police arrived, one officer also claimed to feel the same sensation of warmth and see the ballroom.
